之前試圖讀她早期的日記 但是太瑣碎 加上我只想了解她和她的女朋友們 所以就放棄了 感謝BBC 感謝HBO 感謝Sally 我現在真的非常著迷該劇 于是買了所謂的official companion book 伴著劇一起下飯 感覺大家應該也對Miss Lister感興趣 所以想著就讀到的一些跟劇里的做一下參照 跟大家分享一下 也想順手整理一下時間線 畢竟大家是盼著1834年的到來 【我看到哪里寫哪里 屁股后面一堆deadline 也是抽空偷閑看書 所以不定期更新】 【有些可能有錯誤 請告訴我 我立馬更正】 阿姨的圖鎮一張 鼻血要流干了

粗略的背景介紹 這里introduction描述的是在劇開始之前的一些背景 小時候爹媽就管不住 但是成績好大家也都沒辦法 數學好 一生都酷愛讀書 有極高的求知欲 而且非常自律【劇里她一直都在看表

There was never a point in her life when there was any loss in form, no hiatus in production - just consistent, detailed, daily accounts of what she did, what she saw and what she felt.

初戀是在寄宿學校認識的Eliza Raine（這大家應該都知道了） 不過書里提到的說是first sexual relationship 后來被勸退一是因為這段戀情 二是因為也到處撩其他女孩子們【這個渣T【這里不知道理解的對不對 書里說是but also for her disruptive behaviour towards the other girls】

然后1815年 24的Anne正式搬到Shibden 跟Aunt Anne 和Uncle James一起住 1817年的時候決定 永遠穿黑色【除了一些不得已的場合 所以參加前任的婚禮時:

Anne 解釋說是【她最愛的】Mariana在16年前出嫁時她就開始穿一身黑

沒錯 她就是Anne念念不忘的Mariana 1813年相戀 直到1816年M結婚

劇里提到她解刨人體， 日記里也提到她1831年在巴黎的經歷: 'an arm, a head and a number of foetuses' 【他媽的哪里是僅僅解刨過一個胎兒啊 明明是若干】

雖然后來她叔叔死后（1826年） 讓她繼承Shibden 但是因為她Aunt Anne 還有老爹還活著【直到這兩人1836年去世】所以那時她在資金使用權方面還是限制 身高大概165 (5 feet, 4? inches)， 體重大概52，53公斤(8 stone, 4? pounds) 平胸 聲音低沉 walked at a greate pace with an imposing upright stance 【Suranne真的外形很符合了 走姿也很到位】 我非常欣賞她的一點是她在那個年代能有正確的認知且堅定不移. 1816年8月的日記提到she 'should never marry' and that she 'could not like men'， 而且我不記得哪里看到了 分析說Anne在這個年代會是個女轉男trans 但是書里明確打了那個作者的臉:

she wanted to love women as a woman - and not as a woman dressed as a man

前面提過Anne是一個求知欲很強的人 一生都在孜孜不倦的學習（和做實驗） 所以在學習了‘female organs of generation'后 1832年2月17日她記錄到

finding out distinctly for the first time in my life the clitoris

她在探索女性身體的道路。。。。她其實很早之前就有了這方面的認知。。。。。。。。 【 畢竟早些年 在不懂的時候 1825年1月13日她還把陰蒂描述為

just like an internal penis

后來在1831年4月24日記錄到自己'spent the next few months getting better acquainted with it, periodically locking herself in her water-closet 'try to enlarge' it through 'titillation' '【我這里已經笑死了哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈哈】 她反正經常對自己做些奇怪的性試驗啦 但是普通人不會記錄 她卻啥都寫 有次試著把自己的手指塞到菊花里 想嘗試下'雞奸'能帶來的快感 ('to see what pleasure sodomy could give')【救命啊】 她反正就一直是攻的角色 她記錄的性行為都有oral sex, finger penetration and queer 'closeness', or vagina-on-vagina touching 【這些我就不翻譯了。。】但是從來不用toys 她的床伴有11個【哈？？才11個？？？】 她跟大多數前任保持了良好的朋友關系 一些情史網上也能查到我就不說了【或者等我趕完deadline我再寫】 事實上她也多次打算跟戀人結婚 反正都無果 然后到了她四十歲的時候 她想settle down的心越發認真了 心中的完美wife是有錢的受過良好教育的貴族 那時候也就是劇開始的時候 她跟Vere Hobart【關系從1829到1832】掰了 ??Vere還是她一位前任Sibbella Maclean的侄女【Anne真的很努力地在睡女孩子】

所以1832年心碎回到Shibden 那時候Aunt Anne 66歲 飽受風濕折磨; father Jeremy 79歲 聽力日漸下降；妹妹Marian 34歲 然后有一天 隔壁的Ann Walker來拜訪... ============= 【突然的更新是因為發現deadline不是今天而是明天 哈哈哈哈哈哈】==================================== 1829 - 1832 with Vere Hobart 讀完后我感覺Vere像那種 不說是 也不說不是 跟你繞彎子 反反復復 一會兒晾著你一會兒由著你 內心已經決定要嫁人【還在等對方求婚】 但是還不讓你去撩其他女孩子 等到確定了婚事 然后跟你拜拜的那種直女 —— 不過這是以Anne的視角來看的 或許是有點片面 剛開始Anne對Vere的印象并不好，1829年遇見對方的時候在日記里覺得她蠢（Vere was 'goose'） 一會兒又直接說頭腦簡單（branded her a 'noodle'）之后跟自己的舊情人Mariana Lawton對比后評價Vere是'a good humoured fat girl'（1829年7月30日） - 。 。- Anne這種智商的人 覺得普通人笨也是很正常了 但是她真的太壞了 整天在日記里寫妹子們的壞話 雖然覺得她也在拿自己的閱歷評價小年輕 Vere在1829年的時候只有27歲 Anne都要奔四了 但是隨著兩個人更多的接觸 Anne改變了主意：真香 她開始對Vere獻殷勤 也開始暗示自己對她的喜歡 日記里詳細記錄了兩人曖昧的細節 比如她可以給Vere脫去睡衣(gown) 但是里面的襯裙(petticoats)不行; Vere還給她彈情歌; 她夸Vere 'she was pretty, had the prettiest mouth I ever saw' (類似的招數是不是對Miss Rawson用過) and noted Vere took the compliment very well. 所以在1829年10月13-14的日記里說恩 這妹子喜歡我 1829年10月17日的旅行筆記里提到過 兩個人單獨在一起的時候 Vere提到過When Anne happened to touch her, it led to a 'ticklish' feeling she could not quite fathom. Anne還跟Vere說呀我要搞一套加密字母表啦 我們可以用這些secret code給對方寫信呀【這一招其實Anne常用 來勾搭那些有點意思的妹子們】 煤老板真的對自己非常自信且自戀 Vere曖昧不已的態度也是一起拉她往坑里掉 比如最早在1829年7月30日她在日記里記錄到說 'Vere明確說她以后一定會嫁人 但是同時又說很喜歡跟我在一起’; 第二天的日記還對這段關系抱有積極的幻想：

I cannot quite make Miss H out – whether she does not like me much, whether I have overdone it with attentation – or whether she likes me and does not want to show it – and rather flirts with me. Is the latter possible?

Anyway, Vere是個伯爵的女兒 算是個小貴族吧 周圍交際圈也都類似 跟這種小上流階層比 沒什么錢的地主Anne跟她的Shibden是差了一些 然而Anne天生善于交際 一直都渴望往上游 怎么會錯過這種social的機會呢？從日記來看她非常努力在討好Vere周圍的posh friends 而且非常想融入 一個小細節是Vere有次somehow提到煤老板一年有5000英鎊的收入 對此煤老板沒有糾正; 日記也開始更加流露出對medium people的嫌棄(也包括Mariana Lawton) 說did not suit her any more. 在這里煤老板的形象是不是有點掉 不知道為什么書里幾乎沒有提到1830年的日記(僅有一處) 大多數筆墨都是1829年她想討好Vere 她跟上流社會的交際 以及1831秋-1832年春的心碎Hastings事件 由此也引入了劇的開始 所有人都問她那里發生了什么

書里也沒有明確提煤老板跟Vere是否有更深入的關系 【恩沒錯我是指兩個人到底有沒有睡過】 只是說在巴黎的時候兩個人沒有更進一步 但是Vere一直對她有所保留 比如之前完全沒有提Donald Cameron 一直到1831年秋在Hastings 1831年9月20日的日記里明確的看出煤老板應該是知道了Donald 并且內心受了傷 但是她立馬就萌生了備胎計劃也是。。。。她寫道 'I may take the society this winter at Hastings, and then Lady Gordon will suit me much better' 【Lady Gordon是煤老板跟Vere的共同好友】 不過煤老板的字典里從來就沒有放棄兩個字 她對自己的高度自信讓她覺得能跟Donald Cameron競爭 哎。。之后撞得灰頭土臉大家也都知道了 Vere在被求婚之前對煤老板是忽冷忽熱【我猜可能是因為等求婚等得很焦躁吧】 從記錄來看1831年的秋冬是煤老板最慘的時候 Vere大多數非常冷漠 并覺得她無趣 并表示不想多待在一起 有時候卻不拒絕親密 比如1831年12月31日 Anne kissed Vere gently on the lips and Vere didn't say anything 讓煤老板覺得1832年會有所好轉 但是被迅速打臉 新年后兩個人反正不斷的爭吵 連goodnight kisses都沒了 1月9日Donald Cameron終于現身 Anne對他的第一印象竟然還不錯 3月份的時候Vere其實想離開Hastings 但是Donald還是沒跟她求婚 未來還沒有著落 所以她就想先把Anne留在身邊 as a potential 'companion', and did not want to lose Anne's affections to another woman. 【講道理這里我其實半信半疑 畢竟這些結論肯定是從Anne的日記里得出的我猜 加上煤老板是多自戀的人啊】 說真的我完全不懂為什么煤老板還要在那里耗 1832年初的日記里各種心碎 各種孤獨寂寞冷 然而她卻一直拖到了4月13日 才有了回家的想法 并終于開始打包東西 突然 4月15日Donald求了婚 Anne在當天的日記里簡短地記錄到: she will not say no 那時候煤老板剛剛過了41歲生日沒兩周

傷心欲絕了一段時間后 Anne前往倫敦 并在29號時候她一時興起去Cheltenham 想著勾搭一下Lady Gordon 結果對方并沒有這個想法 并明確地表示如果要一起旅行的話 要分房間睡 沒什么錢耗的煤老板一聽這: 告辭 并在當天的日記里寫道:

My high society plans fail....I shall now get out my scrape as well as I can.....Well, I have gained experience

5月4日她跟Mariana在Cheshire 但絲毫沒有提起Anne的興致和性致 她認為'the sex was tolerable' 還擔心被Mariana的老公間接傳播性病 因為做完后 ‘felt hot after it, it frightens me though I have washed twice....she is not, I fear, to be touched with impunity' 而且早在1821年的時候就這么被傳染過一次 M一心想著等老公死了就可以跟Anne一起了 但是Anne卻在5月7日寫道：

Mariana still thinks me altered and fine, and feels restrained, I am sure, and this has destroyed our chance of our being together - she would live and die where she is

當晚8:25分 身心俱疲的煤老板回到了Shibden 有錢的好鄰居Miss Walker 【6.2更】 1832年5月份Anne回到Shibden后就一直忙忙碌碌 因為之前在上流社會接觸的那段時間 再回來就感覺哪里都vulgar vulgar vulgar 所以剛回家才一個月就又想著離開旅行 說幾點劇里改編過的細節 但是不是很重要啦 一是車夫George的死 是回來之后的6月份死去Langton Hall的 死因跟劇里描述的一樣 Anne也確實參與了驗尸

二是在自己的管家Briggs生病之前(可憐的Briggs在9月17日病逝) 她其實就有意向讓Samuel Washington來繼任了 三是她跟Ann Walker在1820年的相遇就是當時是因為發生了馬車事故 我猜是把這段故事挪到了劇開始：

Ann recollected encountering Miss Walker, her elder sister and their mother in the aftermath of a carriage accident that had occurred on Shibden land in 1820. The Walkers were offered a cup of tea and a lantern to light their way home, but not friendship.

四是Mariana在她回到Shibden后還是繼續各種書信往來 M說她’unsettled life‘ was having a bad effect on her temperament and resulting in her'odd and particular' treatment of others 煤老板5月份的時候回應'I am as I am' 其實同時內心有在留意隔壁這個富有的女繼承人Ann Walker 而不是完全沒有考慮 最后是Walker一家作為暴發戶’new money‘ 在多處都有房產 書里提到他們來自Lightcliffe 而Ann是住在其中的Lidgate 不是劇里提到的Crow Nest 她們之間的戀情始于1832年 但是早之前也見過幾次 1820s煤老板的日記里就零星記錄【judge】了這一家子人 在1822年6月18日提到Miss Walker:

A stupid, vulgar girl indeed

隨后8月19日的時候又說她姐姐Elizabeth 'deadly stupid' 【哎 這個女人】 1832年7月6日 Ann Walker 跟著親戚Atkinson兩口子去煤老板家串門 書里提到說 仔細品品當天的日記的話 就會發現那里煤老板有小小的撩撥了一下 : there is to be found a tiny hit of flirtation in a joke she makes with Miss Walker 'about travelling' together. 一周后煤老板回訪 在Lightcliffe她跟Walker以及Walker的親戚們參觀了那里的三處房產 Ann Walker 比煤老板小12歲 她的焦慮和自卑 不好說是不是因為童年時候她爹的虐待 William Priestley在1822年的時候跟Anne提過Walker爹 'ill-treated his wife and daughters'; 幾年后他老婆Mrs Priestley更詳細地聊了一下 expanded on the nature of Miss Walker's mental illness 所以1828年8月28日Anne的日記里說起Miss Walker的insanity 同年11月6日Mrs Priestley又對煤老板表示對Miss Walker精神狀況的擔憂 she feared she would 'end in idiocy'

1830s 姐姐Elizabeth遠嫁蘇格蘭 Ann一個小人住在大大的Lidgate 應該是非常無聊 日常交際也就盼著Catherine Rawson, Miss Parkhill 還有她的畫畫老師 Mr Brown來 除此之外她盡可能的用sewing, knitting and small philanthropic work來填補其他的時間 雖然Miss Walker跟煤老板性格完全不同 但是經歷有點像 比如因為父母早逝 所以Walker也是跟她姑媽關系更親近 再比如Ann能繼承財產也是因為兄弟的死 煤老板那時候是真窮 1833年2月2日的時候她記錄過算出一年的收入大概在830-840英鎊之間 her own income was somewhere between ￡830 and ￡840 per annum 算是非常一般的鄉紳了 但Ann手邊的錢就是她的兩倍多 'By contrast, Ann Walker had more than double that amount at her disposal.‘ 因為Ann Walker自己有錢 家里人也都算著呢 比如劇里也提到她姐夫的媽希望她嫁給自己的一個敗家親戚Alexander Mackenzie

劇里Miss Walker提過家里聯姻很厲害的 所以當時Walker, Rawson, Edwards and Priestley四家人就從經濟到政治都把控了Halifax 而Ann 這樣一個有著高收入的未婚女子at the heart of such a family, she held considerable power 這些煤老板都 一 清 二 楚 【加粗劃重點】 就在Anne拜訪Ann的同一天 她收到了Jeremiah Rawson的信 說想談談礦的事情 在跟她的煤礦經紀人James Holt 討論了之后 做了點算數 得出來每英畝收￡226.17.6 1832年7月19日周二 Jeremiah來訪 開門見山問價格 整個逗留時間不超過25分鐘

1832年8月10日煤老板又去拜訪Ann 據稱這次訪問只是unremarkable 兩個人就客客氣氣的喝喝茶聊聊鄰里間的八卦 Ann確實也吐槽了Dr Kenny的試圖親近 但是an insight into Anne's inner thoughts make the story quite different Walker的友好讓煤老板覺得 或許有那么種可能

For Anne, there was romantic promise in the fact of their getting on so 'very well together'. The possibility of courting Miss Walker had entered her mind 'several times before of late'.

當晚她在日記里寫道：shall I try and make up to her? Miss Walker去旅游啦 【6.3 更】 一周后煤老板又去Walker家撩妹 但是中途先去了Priestley家聊了會天【劇里看來是把順序調換了】 后來告辭后在Ann家里呆了3個小時 this would be the longest amount of time the two women had ever spent together 聊天的時候 Anne設法折斷了劇里提到Catherine送的ivory book knife

Initially ashamed of her clumsiness, Ann turned the situation quickly to her charming advantage. It would, she suggested 'be a good excuse for my giving her one someday from Paris, which she would value as much as the one destroyed'.

Miss Walker replied, encouragingly, that she would value any gift of Anne's even more than the thing she had broken that she would value any gift of Anne's even more than the thing she had broken that she would value any gift of Anne's even more than the thing she had broken

小可愛 ?

我個人是非常喜歡這種小細節了 戳到我了 后來兩個人友好地道別 Ann送了煤老板一本Penny Magazine【The Penny Magazine was an illustrated British magazine aimed at the working class, published every Saturday from 31 March 1832 to 31 October 1845.】雖然這天沒有確定下一次相見的日子 但是煤老板在日記里寫道(1832年8月17日):

She has money and this might make up for rank. We get on very well so far and the thought, as I returned, amused and interested me

這里為什么感覺煤老板真的戀愛了 雖然提到了'她有錢 這可以彌補她的地位' 作為兩百年前的人 煤老板對找個好頭銜老婆的執著可以理解 19世紀 異性戀的傳統組合是for the middle and upper-class, a ’good match‘ was a marriage that made financial sense, with love a secondary consideration 煤老板人再open-minded 在大環境影響下這種心理其實是根深蒂固的 之前追求Vere和試圖融入上流階層無果 讓她覺得 恩 Walker雖然沒有頭銜 但是有錢 況且我們Lister的名號could be enough for them both 之后幾天兩個人沒有見面 所以具體Anne的生活我就不提了 反正書里就寫她一直忙忙碌碌 找父親要錢翻修房子 跟佃農相處 惦記著出國玩 以及與Aunt Anne非常鐵的關系 此處插播一件跟Mariana和Vere相關的事情 1832年7月24日Mariana去Shibden找煤老板 同一天她剛好也收到Vere的婚禮請帖 實際上Anne之后并沒有去參加婚禮 只是寫了信給Vere的親戚說哇恭喜不去沒空 這次M來估計是想化解兩個人在5月份那次的不快 也想著舊情復燃to have stirred up old feelings 但是煤老板卻覺得疲倦 在M走的前一天日記記錄著'felt relieved to get rid of her' 8月5日M來信說抱歉背叛了兩個人的關系選擇了出嫁 8月20日M又來信抱怨跟老公Charles Lawton的關系 煤老板卻覺得煩

'well,' she wrote on 20th August 1832, 'I trust I have done with her. I rarely think of her without irritation. '

嘖嘖嘖 8月中下旬的時候 她終于決定好Chaumière的建造位置 并計劃于9月底完工

書里還提到了煤老板嚴重的便秘還有背痛的問題 關于便秘Anne是一直在尋找解決辦法并各種嘗試 在1835年的日記里提到了蓖麻油 and 'bathing the bottom of the back with salt and water or vinegar and water'..............還說 digestive pills of aloe and mrtth before dinner 1832年9月初 Ann Walker要跟Catherine Rawson去Lake District呆三周 那時候Anne Lister感覺已經有相當的自信 to ask Miss Walker if she would be thinking of her while she was away 而Ann的回應 rather romantic question was encouraging

'Yes, she would not forget'

兩個人在Ann離開前一天打算在Halifax消磨一下午 而Anne在約會的前一天晚上就計劃好了自己的outfit 她想著不僅給Miss Walker 也給未來的親家們留個好印象 9月3日一早Ann就來Shibden找Anne 一直等到上午11:50兩個人坐著Ann的馬車去市里串門 An ambitious itinerary of social calls had been planned 一直到下午5:30分把煤老板送回了家 其實這么看下來 比較喜歡劇里的改編了 各種這么社交聽上去就挺無聊的 Ann離開的兩天后 煤老板在日記里第一次用特有的描述 記錄了因為一邊想著Miss Walker一邊自慰高潮 整段都摘抄了：

Two days after Ann Walker left for the Lake District, Anne 'incurred a cross' while thinking about her. It marked the first time she had used the phrase about her. Always recorded in crypt hand at the top of the day's diary entry, this was Anne's preferred way to describe an orgasm she had achieved by masturbation. It was frequently used in conjunction with the name of her current or would-be lover, and sometimes followed with the specification that she had been thinking of that woman 'merely as a mistress'

其實老司機Anne發明了很多來描述自己性生活的特殊字眼: Grubbling meant using her hand to bring another woman to orgasm A' kiss' was another word for orgasm 'Going to Italy' referred to making love or having full sex 啊突然想起了前面introduction里還提過: On 7th June 1836, Anne invented a new euphemism to describe bringing a lover to orgasm :'bring[ing] monsieur again'. Anne只想做一個快快樂樂的同性戀 但是在那個年代沒辦法出柜 找個性伴侶不容易也很危險 她的日記里記錄了那么多女孩子 貌似只有兩個跟她一樣對自己的性取向有明確認知 并拒絕異性戀婚姻 通過Anne日記的描述來看兩個應該都是butch lesbians 書里提到Ann Walker就算在深柜 啊不 深閨中的Lidgate 也應該聽說過Anne Lister同性戀的傳聞【但是她并不在乎 嘻嘻】 If Ann Walker had heard rumours, it did not impede her desire to pursue the friendship. 她還安排9月25日一回來就跟煤老板約早飯 繼續勾搭Miss Walker 【6.3晚上】 【其實有點想跟著劇一起完結這個的 但是要寫作業 估計不行了】 【我收回之前說煤老板追求Ann Walker只圖錢的觀點 日記來看 還是有喜愛的】 Anne趁著Miss Walker不在的時候 就開始處理各種雜事 跟佃農的糾紛啦 煤啦 還有窮也要繼續返修的勇氣(借錢的信都寫好了 但是沒寄) 她那80歲的老父親 基本已經就Anne你隨便吧愛咋咋地我不管了(其實劇里也能看出這種小細節 經常就是一個'呵呵'的眼神 然后不說話) 順便一提Anne不是又想著出國旅行了嘛 所以也在找貼身女仆 Mariana在9月9日的來信中給她推薦了法國女孩23歲的Eugenie 因為M知道Anne對異國風情的喜愛 Anne也確實很看重這一點 但是更多也在詢問Eugenie的細節 比如一定要健康 一定要愛旅行之類 同時也開始思考Miss Walker是否能跟她一起旅行 1832年9月26日 Ann回來的第二天 兩個人如約一起吃了早飯 聊了大概一個半小時 相處地非常愉快 'Very civil, our conversation quite confidential' Anne非常感動Miss Walker給她帶回來一件大理石鎮紙作為禮物 但了解到Ann并不想去意大利(書里特地說了一句這里并沒有性暗示哈哈哈哈 我也沒往這上面想啊) 此處是想說明Ann不愿意國外旅行 后來煤老板就回去了Shibden 但剛到沒10分鐘就發現Ann的傭人James來找她拿書 to collect some books which Anne had forgotten to bring to Lidgate for Miss Walker 于是Anne草草地寫了一張便條道歉 offering 'a thousand apologies' 其實兩個人又再約了第二天吃早飯 也就是9月27日再見面 所以Ann是真的這么著急看書嗎？

It is tempting to speculate that it was a desire of Ann Walker's to establish further communication with Anne Lister before their next meeting that prompted her to send her servant to Shibden, more than any impatience to read her books.

明明是再多等一天也無妨的事情 Ann對煤老板的喜愛之情顯露無疑 不管怎樣 這也給了煤老板一個撩妹的機會 她讓James帶回去的便條里 operated within the romantic conventions of the day 她說 she had 'played truant' by staying longer than she had intended at Lidgate. The visit had given her 'so much to think of afterwards, that is long after I have actually left you' It was the Georgian equivalent of texting your date afterwards, to tell them you've had a good time 第二天9月27日兩個人在早上7:30后吃早餐 之后兩個人去另一個房間繼續共度時光 突然來了兩位不速之客 Stansfield Rawson和 Delia Rawson 倆Rawson當時的古怪態度也跟劇里一樣 反正煤老板心想剛跟Ann分別了三周自己才不要這么早就走呢

四個人待了一會后Rawson們發現自己的戰斗力比不過比不過就告辭了 Miss Walker之后說 was 'glad' of it 吃過午飯后煤老板建議去散步 說想帶Ann看看剛修的路和新建的草屋 據當天的日記記載說兩個人絕對在里面呆了幾個小時 茅舍隱秘又浪漫 是絕佳的撩妹圣地 這應該也是煤老板在這里選址的目的 Miss Walker是第一位被邀請的客人 and was duly enchanted

可愛She sat in the moss house, hardly liking to move. Of course I made myself agreeable, and I think she likes me even more than she herself is aware

借此良機Anne又提出一起去國外旅行的事情 在前一天的對話里 Ann不知道煤老板是不是在開玩笑 ‘all a joke’ 現在煤老板說希望Miss Walker能認真考慮一下自己的提議 Her endeavours appeared to be successful , and the conversation took a decidedly romantic turn. 當晚的日記記錄到Ann提到了marriage的字眼 是自己提的喲【下面摘抄字號48 加粗】

'We laughed at the idea of the talk our going aboard would [make], she said it would be as good as a marriage. 'Yes', said [I]. 'Quite as good or better' '

還有比Miss Walker更明顯的暗示嗎？反正連我都聽出來了

字里行間能判斷是戀愛了戀愛了 Anne還在這日記里還順便感謝了仁慈的上帝 'for bringing me home' 跟Miss Walker在一起 Anne有一種煥然一新的感覺 found a refreshing lack of worldliness 不像Mariana或Vere, Ann was uncritical 她不會去judge煤老板的外表或打扮 或者相對男性化的走姿 Mariana之前經常expressed her embarrassment at being see with Anne in public 但是Ann絲毫不在乎 說真的 真喜歡一個人 肯定是會接受她的一切 Anne就像自己曾說過的一樣‘I am as I am’ 她是不會變的 能碰到Miss Walker 她真的很幸運 煤老板雖然自己覺得her match with Miss Walker did not represent a meeting of intellect, confidence or even physical energy 但是她覺得兩個人對彼此是簡單又純粹的互相喜歡 會是非常有愛的一對 1832年9月底Ann接受了煤老板的旅行邀請

We shall go on swimmingly, and our courtship will progress naturally - she already likes me - perhaps she scarce knows how. We shall both be in love seriously enough before our journey (1832年9月28日)

劇里第二集難免 或者至少是我覺得煤老板非常厚臉皮和真自信 第一次拜訪后就得出'哇人家喜歡我'的結論 現在按照時間段讀下來發現我完全誤解了煤老板 雖然Anne一直在試探 但至少Ann這兩個月間是有意無意間也給了很多鼓勵和暗示 或者暴露了自己的喜歡【但是自己不知道那是什么的情感】 為了跟Ann的旅行做鋪墊 煤老板想著得去討好Walker的一系列親戚們 所以9月29日的時候去拜訪了Priestleys兩口子 之后又去找了Miss Walker 到這時候兩個人已經是非常曖昧了 但是很多對話卻預示著暴風雨前的平靜 比如Ann的缺乏自信 搖擺不定 以及第一反應是不想去Shibden居住 都預示了未來幾個月這段感情的虐 書里也提到了Ann提議推遲旅行是因為Ainsworth夫婦的到訪 煤老板就想著那剛好有時間照顧生病的Aunt Anne ; Ann對去Shibden定居的愿景表示不太情愿 煤老板私底下承認說確實為難她畢竟還太早 但是was happpy to have planted the thought in Miss Walker's mind 那時候 Anne并沒有對Miss Walker出柜 拜訪的時候基本也就聊聊家常 聊聊旅行 但是Anne對Walker也了解的不多 她并不知道Ann之前有沒有過什么戀情 但是assumed that Ann was sexually inexperienced which reinforced her interest that she must tread sensitively and carefully 因為煤老板這天在Walker家逗留到太晚 所以9月29日的日記里提到說Aunt Anne和妹妹Marian對她安全的擔憂 因為那時候治安并不好 加上從Lightcliffe到Shibden那條路是又黑又暗 哎 天天跟妹妹吵架 吵歸吵 也沒耽誤跟姑媽分享與Miss Walker愜意相處的好心情 The genteel femininity that attracted Anne to Miss Walker as a prospective sexual partner was also a part of what made her acceptable to Anne's family. 上流社會優雅的女性氣質讓Anne覺得Ann是the right kind of woman, fitted neatly of the image of 'proper lady' 【死直男】 除此之外呢 Anne對Miss Walker的性沖動啊性沖動 her sexual fantasies about Miss Walker - from which she 'incurred a cross'【還記得嗎 她的自慰高潮話術】 in the early hours of 30th September - were increasingly frequent and meticulously logged. 剛剛建成的小草屋也成了煤老板跟Miss Walker頻繁私會的地點 1832年10月1日 妹妹又跟她吵了一架 然后生氣了說要去Market Weighton 道別了妹妹后她跟Miss Walker半路相會 一起前往茅廬【約會】 Miss Walker提到說她感覺不是很好 這是煤老板第一次意識到心理病會影響生理痛 到了茅廬后倆人差不多在里面呆了6個小時

【忍不住喊出了team AnnE】 Anne聊了下一起住的事情啊 根劇里的描述一樣 Ann的回答很直率 基本上就是覺得雖然她不認為自己會結婚 但是不會拋棄這種可能性 所以需要一些時間來想一下【我個人覺得很真誠 也非常實際】

當天的日記里Anne表露了自己的失望 that was disappointing that Miss Walker had not yet mentally erased the possibility of a relationship with a man 但另一方面 不得不說也是給了人希望 Anne viewed her own relationships firmly within a heterosexual framework. 在主流異性戀社會的影響下 Anne想著跟相伴一生的愛人在上帝面前宣誓 并交換戒指也很正常【一直到2019年還是沒變的套路】 日記里也提到(1832年10月1日)要給Ann 6個月的時間思考 在她42歲生日那天告訴她結果 同時Anne也提到過 the time Miss Walker would need to make up her mind could also be of benefit to her. 畢竟她等Mariana等了16年等了個屁, 6 months was nothing 10月2日跟3日似乎是一直忙碌處理家里的事情 以及M的來信(其中包括Eugenie的事情) 但是3日晚上提到了對Miss Walker的愛意

10月4日早上10點Anne就出現在Lidgate 聊了一會后Miss Walker竟然主動提起來未來兩個人一起在Shibden住的話題 raised the subject of where they should live, should she accept Anne's offer 但是隨后Walker又提到Anne 經常去找Priestleys啦 Ann擔心兩個人女人的過分親近會不會被人說閑話之類 雖說煤老板安慰了她并試圖消除疑慮 但同時又焦慮是不是又有個Charles Lawton或者Donald Cameron突然冒出來娶她喜歡的女孩 煤老板是意識到了Miss Walker的個性真的非常矛盾 Their curx, ironically, was to be Miss Walker's surprising sexual confidence. 當天下午她們的關系又有了新的進展：

I had my arm on the back of the sofa. This queer girl puzzles me.'【煤老板碰到對手了】 【Miss Walker為什么還不給答案】 【趁著剛幾個大項目的上下空隙 我終于有空看書了 6.8更】 接上文的當天 也就是10月4日 Miss Walker說收到一封匿名信 日記里并沒有提信里的內容 所以作者就推測可能是Ann家族寫的 用來警告煤老板 煤老板幾年來一直都收到一些信來嘲諷她穿著打扮 也暗指她 '不正常的'性取向 Anne早就習慣了 但是Ann沒有 一有風吹草動她就很緊張 5日的是時候兩人又約 Miss Walker had given Anne her first 'mumbling kisses' Anne是相信Miss Walker全心全意愛著她的 但是對要等6個月這件事 心里沒什么底 而且她越發覺得Miss Walker沒有外表看上去那樣單純 之后Miss Walker帶Anne去了她房間 這里Anne內心其實表現出了少有的insecurity

嘖嘖嘖嘖嘖嘖 不過 勇敢的煤老板當然是選擇 不 過 夜 然后跑回家跟姑媽談心 10月6日的時候她又去跟Mrs Priestley聯絡感情 后來人家隨口提了一句你最近跟Miss Walker走挺近哈 煤老板聽完后有點虛 一邊覺得周圍的人都在盯著她們的一舉一動 一邊又趕緊說不不不不 我們是好朋友我又沒天天跟她在一起 比如周二或周三(10月2日跟3日)就沒！我今天也不打算找她(也確實沒去找) 【煤老板還是很誠實的】 10月7日的時候煤老板終于去了一次教堂 因為對她來說禱文在家讀讀就行啦 花幾個小時沒有意義 加上她經常在布道的時候睡著 【哈哈哈哈哈 好可愛】 不過這天Mrs Priestley發現忠實信徒Miss Walker竟然意外缺了席 她跟煤老板一說 兩個人之后就去Ann家看了一眼 發現Ann沒什么事兒 Mrs Priestley呆了一會就走了 留下兩個人繼續聊天順便做一些羞羞的事情 之前Anne晚歸搞得家人很擔心 于是John就被派去接Anne 就發生了跟劇里一樣的事情 日記記載當晚Mrs Priestley肯定也意識到了什么

1822年7月底的時候煤老板終于有機會去Plas Newydd拜訪 但是前一站7月17日是Mariana那里 似乎被虐得很慘【書里沒提發生了什么 之后可以找找日記】 那時候Eleanor Butler 和 Sarah Ponsonby已經同居42年了 Miss Ponsonby打扮得略butch 給Anne 留下了深刻的印象 但是了解到她倆從愛爾蘭跑到這里也是為了逃家里的逼婚或逼出家后 她覺得自己非常幸運 出柜成功家人支持 有點收入 加上夠聰明 能讓她過上她想要的生活 但是她最受不了就是要掩飾自己 這次愉快的拜訪加上兩個人獨特的生活方式 had a profound effect on Anne's romantic imagination 上面的鏈接也提到了 Anne暗搓搓地猜兩個人肯定是有性生活的 讓我們回到10月8日 也就是周一 也就是John誤跑去Priestley家接Anne的第二天 煤老板睡了一覺后 shook off了前一晚的擔憂 覺得Mrs Priestley would 'think something in the wind' 就決定今天再去找Miss Walker 書里提到了她跟Mrs Rawson非常好的關系 也是位很有趣的老太太呢 搞定了一些social calls后 她去了Lidgate 本來只打算呆a few minutes 因為煤老板來大姨媽了(or 'cousin' as she called it) The preparation, washing and burning of bloodied rags was a time-consuming inconvenience 正好可以在接下來幾天as an excuse to put some space between Ann and Anne 不過Miss Walker怎么會這么輕易的放她走呢 煤老板一直在那里呆到了晚上六點多 期間兩人又聊天 煤老板又試探 后來兩個人又把簾子放下 開始make out 之后就有了這一幕

這是非常有紀念意義的一天 因為Anne 'touch (first time) the hair and skin of queer (a.k.a vagina)' 我看到上面的時候以為煤老板終于睡到了Miss Walker了呢 但是之后那個章節說 so far there had been only fondling and kissing. Anne was yet to stay the whole night at Lidgate, and remained somewhat insecure about her ability to sexually satisfy Miss Walker.【？？？？？還是只有make out嗎 手都伸到下面了為什么不做！！非常想坐著時光機去找煤老板說別怕 很多女孩子都是在找了女朋友后才有了真正的性高潮】 接下來的幾個月 Miss Walker是越來越依賴Anne 經常consulted her concerns' in both estate affairs and personal matters (1832年10月17日) 同時Anne也一直提要帶Miss Walker去York看病 她覺得Miss Walker經常背痛是受她精神影響 加上她的消極已經影響到了煤老板 She found herself bothered by Miss Walker's lack of self-esteem 煤老板整天在Shibden東忙西忙活力充沛 反之Miss Walker 'not well and lay on the sofa' 【哎這兩個人真的挺不合適的】 10月13日的時候 妹妹Marian回來的當天 煤老板又去勸說Miss Walker跟她去看醫生 終于Ann答應了 【14日的時候煤老板寫信給Mariana說要帶個朋友找她弟弟看病 但是只字不提她跟Miss Walker的關系】 雖然Miss Walker一直對將來的同居計劃保持沉默 但是肉體關系是continued to develop 1832年10月15日兩個人又干柴烈火 Anne took this as a sign that Miss Walker was preparing to accept her proposal:

10月19日Ann來大姨媽了 所以'I was most tender over her' 當天呆到非常晚才回去 到了Shibden的時候都晚上11:20了 她姑媽自然非常生氣 不過她就過去哄姑媽 然后聊了下跟Miss Walker的進展 說一切都非常順利 但事實并非如此 其實她當晚回家的時候內心已經felt distinctly 'annoyed' at their stalmate Miss Walker越發搪塞 煤老板就越覺得看不到希望 所以她決定had best care little about her 不過病 該看的還是得看 10月22日 兩個人到達了York Ainsworth你給我走 【6.15更 不好意思 我終于有空了 應該這兩天就會更新到第一季結尾】 在約克的時候 Anne也趁機各種跟老朋友聚 其中也包括Mariana的妹妹（或者姐姐） Harriet Milne 煤老板曾跟Harriet有過一段 10月23日的日記說跟她見面 Harriet說很看好她跟Miss Walker的事情 but we made 'foot love' under the table Belcombe醫生的診斷非常簡潔 病因是Miss Walker有錢有閑 Miss Walker had too much money and too little to do, and had managed to think herself into being ill 其實這是因為當時醫學水平限制 只能把這類精神疾病認為是女性‘特有的’歇斯底里 日記并沒有記載Miss Walker 對診斷結果的看法 但是顯然病情并沒有好轉 10月24日的日記說 ‘no grubbling last night - she was sore’ {密語溫習: Grubbling meant using her hand to bring another woman to orgasm} 但是10月25日回Halifax的路上 在利茲經停的時候 a little 'grubbling' in the carriage 書里還提到路上兩個人對未來的規劃上還越聊越興奮 至此Anne認為‘seemed quite agreed’ 她認為雖然Miss Walker還沒有答應她 但是越來越迷戀她了 10月26日的時候兩人拜訪Ann的姑姑 之后的情形跟劇是一樣的

Miss Walker雖然說：這樣我們可以在1月份出國旅行了 但是Anne察覺到Miss Walker was in fact much affected 當天還在日記里這般烏鴉嘴:

不過兩個人性生活還是很愉快的 10月不緊不慢地要結束 煤老板也在日記也記錄了這段時間的healthy sex life:

劇里并沒有提Isabella Norcliffe (Tib) 看過BBC之前Maxine那版Lister的姬友們可能還記得有一位非常喜歡煤老板想跟煤老板度過一生 但是卻一直被拒的那個炮友

【沒錯 也是killing eve那個英語老師】 Tib來信 說provided an opportunity for Anne to air her positivity about the affair 煤老板沒有明提對Tib還有沒有感情 但是說了the 'really nice girl' Ann was turning out to be 煤老板越發對這段感情有信心 她甚至考慮如果Ann答應她的話 她可以搬去Lidgate 10月31日 日記里記載道終于成功地勸Ann把等待期限從4月3日提前至1月1日了 并越發認為Miss Walker會答應嫁給她 但是11月1日 Thomas Ainsworth早上的來信讓Miss Walker開始動搖 也讓煤老板在日記里的猜想成了真

She begged me to stay till she had read her letter from Mr Ainsworth ...Ainsworth hopes Miss W will not forsake him as a friend and begs her to write to him

不過對未來還是抱有期待的煤老板 想著要保護Miss Walker的資產權益 就趁著在Halifax的時候找她的律師起草了一份針對Miss Walker一個佃農的賠償協議 因為他偷了干草 回去Shibden后煤老板就寫了一封長長飽含各種建議的信給Miss Walker 她似乎是想讓Ann不要老想著final desicion 不妨channelling nervousness into practical management of her state 再是想證明自己是個非常合格的partner protector Ann當晚的回信還是模棱兩可 'I have been better today because I have been employing myself for you, but I am still very nervous' 由此煤老板就在日記里問自己 Miss Walker的決定到底會是什么 11月4日她收到Lady Stuart的來信說Donald的父親去世了 也就是Vere的公公 這一下子就讓Lister的思緒回到了凄凄慘慘的1832年 去年的這個時候 她正在Hastings爭取Vere的芳心 結果以失敗告終 今年似乎又重蹈了去年的老路 11月5日的時候 也就是周一 煤老板如劇里一樣 收到了'一個無法決定所以把鍋推給對方'的水果籃子 1832年就這樣結束了 【我晚了兩天更的原因是。。。。。最近沉迷明日方舟。。。。。太可怕了一刷就是一整天。。。。。辣雞游戲毀我人生！！！！所以我刪了】 果籃里Miss Walker的信 開頭表達了自己的糾結 又說這段時間身體又不好 無法做出公平的判斷 所以就讓上帝決定 同樣的也是讓煤老板或她姑姑從錢包里抓鬮 看完信后煤老板整個人都不好了" in agitation, little expecting to find it a mere evasion" 幾分鐘后她抓著錢包就沖去Lidgate要個解釋 到了后發現Ann正在等她 ‘We kissed and she was affectionate as usual’ 煤老板說沒想到會是以這種方式被告知結果 然后表明了自己的立場 兩人現在關系這樣親密 彼此已經建立深厚的感情紐帶 自己是不可能回到從前了 加上她內心覺得這早已超越了普通友誼 and she was losing patience 所以煤老板認為 只要Ann還是猶豫不決 一起出國旅行的事情就取消 Miss Walker本來還說11月2日贈的一縷陰毛讓煤老板誤解了 后來意識到會失去她 Ann立馬就不猶豫了 Miss Walker's hesitation all but vanished 因此Anne在日記里冷冷地寫道：好了她現在倒是樂意跟我一起旅行了 回Shibden的路上煤老板對Miss Walker不明朗的態度非常糾結 然后又開始給自己進行思想建設 'Well, it is an arrow and perhaps a lucky escape. Thank God for all his mercies' 當晚在日記里說打算第二天重新制定明年1月的旅行計劃 leaving Miss Walker and her indecision behind 11月6日 Anne決定不去想這件事 轉移注意力到Shibden的生意上 但是她發現自己沒法不去找Miss Walker 所以身體很誠實的Anne當天忍不住去了一趟Lidgate 雖然Miss Walker很開心她來 但是氣氛卻不算融洽 'I have kissed her but in a common way' 然后就沒有然后了

I left her with no pleasant feeling, saying to myself damn her....I do not think her answer will be yes, and the more easily reconciled I am the better. Shall I dislike her by and by? At least I shall be more at liberty without her.

Miss Walker fretted and cried and sighed and said she should not live long. I proposed her returning her notes, and having mine.

煤老板真是個熊孩子 看劇的時候 我總覺得兩個人應該會搞點什么 沒想到還真的搞了點什么 不過兩個人也就是互相挑逗一下打發時間而已 this diversion seemed no more than a game to Anne 'She sits on my knee tonight and has kissed me these three nights but I do it all very properly' 似乎Sophie小姑娘跟Miss Walker有點像 兩個人都有點 low self-esteem 9月11日日記寫道:’ She sat on my knee this evening. I tell her she is not ugly and she is well enough inclined to flirt with me but I am very prudent‘ 書里順便提到了Sophie之后的故事 拒絕了那位有錢但比她大20歲的俄羅斯老頭后 她在1841年的時候嫁給了意大利著名革命家Federico Confalonieri 雖然兩個人的婚姻只持續了5年Federico就去世了 從書信中能看出兩個人互相愛慕 各種夸來夸去

而且Sophie也由Federico接觸到了一個全新的社會圈子 比如Rossini, Verdi, Liszt, Victor Hugo, Balzac和Alexis de Tocqueville后來都成了她的圈內好友 基本上是熊孩子煤老板想到處玩 Sophie小姑娘只想回家 兩個人對對方也開始不耐煩 煤老板還在9月13日的日記里吐槽人家的小狗打呼 'Should have been comfortable enough without Miss Ferrall and her snoring, disagreeable little dog' 所以在9月17日當一行人終于坐上了Travemünde的輪船前往最終目的地時 雙方都感覺到了解脫 Anne日記里說我再也不要旅行同伴了 末了還加了一句說Sophie was 'the most disagreeable girl I ever saw' 之后在哥本哈根的兩個月Anne過得很開心 學學德語啦 讀讀書 寫寫游記 定期散散步 當然還有繁忙的社交活動 她周圍的人心智也都非常高 intellectually stimulating 【讓你無處吐槽！】 提幾個小插曲 其實主要是想記錄一下時間線 在第一波到哥本哈根的信件中沒有Elizabeth從蘇格拉的回信 煤老板略驚訝'perhaps she did not quite like my last' (9月19日) Mariana的來信中說我聽說吧哥本哈根是'the court of dullness' 大家都說你肯定不會喜歡丹麥的 煤老板直接懟回去she had not had any 'time to find it so' (9月21日) 她還詳細告訴了M她的社交活動安排 以及一反常態的夸Sophie說非常好的旅行同伴 'very pretty', 'very agreeable and useful' 這是用來刺激M的 10月23日晚上被引薦給丹麥王后然后下跪錯了人

Amidst the excitement of preparing for the party, Anne's thoughts turned to Ann Walker. 10月15日 姑姑Anne的來信里提到Miss Walker有意向回到Halifax 'though she had not mentioned it to Mrs Sutherland, on account of her not being well' 10月30日的日記又提 'I have thought much about Miss Walker lately' 以及思考為什么還沒有收到Mrs Sutherland的回信 還想著是否再寫一封信問問看 10月30日王后的生日派對描寫 這里就不多說了 總之煤老板一身白 兩個仆人是完全不讓人省心 極其不稱職 弄丟她的衣服 找不到鑰匙 尤其是Eugenie經常在未經許可的情況下偷偷溜出去 11月19日Anne收到家里的來信 A worrying letter arrived from Marian about Aunt Anne's 'exceedingly precarious state of health' 前兩頁附上了Dr Kenny的診斷 煤老板陷入了掙扎 一方面憑她對Marian和Dr Kenny的了解 一個經常小題大做’alarmist‘ 一個就愛添油加醋 姑姑的實際病情可能沒那么嚴重 但是另一方面她又不想冒這個風險 her aunt's health was too dear to her to run the risk 一周后(11月28日) 煤老板決定啟程回去看看Aunt Anne 回程的艱辛比劇里表現的難得多了 風大浪大 煤老板還因此嚴重暈船

1833年12月15日 歷經15天的旅行 疲憊不堪頭發凌亂的三個人終于在Gravesend的碼頭著陸 Apart from having splashed her face with cold water, Anne had not washed, or removed her clothes, for the last fifteen days. 接下來的5天里 Anne什么都沒寫 但是在12月23日Mariana寄給她的信里可以推斷 煤老板應該是在16日-20日期間去過Lawton Hall 12月21日煤老板終于到達Shibden 她果然猜對了 就是Marian和Dr Kenny這兩個人在小題大做 姑媽的身體雖然還是不好 但沒有到病危的程度 15天未能換洗衣服冒著生命危險趕來那還能怎么樣 當然是譴責啦 不知道日記里是不是也有記載說Dr Kenny說自己出于好意才寫信 反正事實上他可是認認真真地把鍋甩給了Marian 12月27日 Anne Lister收到了Ann Walker的信 It conveyed a remarkable coincidence Miss Walker已經離開了蘇格蘭并在圣誕前夕到達了Lidgate 她對煤老板的突然返鄉一無所知 until she had called at the hall, to see Anne's aunt and uncle【書里這里有個錯誤吧 Anne的叔叔早就去世了...】當煤老板得知此事的時候she was fifty miles away, at the Norcliffe's estate near York Anyway兩個人很快定好1月初的時候見面 Miss Walker was as eager as ever to see Anne 煤老板激動地在日記里說'How extraordinarily my return and hers too so close and unexpected on each other! (27th December 1833) ' 還加了個嘆號喲 她也立馬告訴了Mariana這件事情 M回信里比煤老板多了兩個嘆號 還說哇這是你注定的緣分哇 'Miss Walker returned to Lidgate!!! Fred, is this to be your fate?' 1月4日 Anne made the familiar brisk journey on foot from Shibden to Lidgate 【哈哈神清氣爽的樣子】 Miss Walker精神狀態看起來好多了 10個月沒見了 兩個人可是有一肚子話要跟對方說 就這樣從前一晚一直聊到第二天早上4點 Miss Walker說后悔離開了她 還說賤男Mr Ainsworth又給她寫信 她有一次差點動了結婚的念頭 但隨后放棄了 ’Her sister told him she was not able to judge for herself, but he did not mind that, so both Captain and Mrs Sutherland got annoyed at him.' 【jajajajajajajajajajajajajaja】 Ann似乎是明確了自己想跟Anne在一起的心 好像很有把握兩個人會在一起 但是Anne倒不怎么確定 'Miss W talked as if she would be glad to take me, then If I say anything decisive, she hesitates' 而且Miss Walker突然回到Halifax是否真如她所說的單純就是想遠離Sutherlands夫婦倆? Was Anne only the second reason for her return? 煤老板現在已經沒有精力也沒有意愿再回到之前那樣一直在兜圈子的關系 如果兩個人會有未來 她想讓Miss Walker能真正地commit to her 交換戒指 以及在上帝面前與她一起領圣餐 2月10日 Anne Lister stated her case for their union a final time

She agreed and it was understood she was to consider herself as nobody to please and being under no authority but mine.

1834年2月12日 the decision appeared final 她們將要許下婚誓對彼此做出承諾 'She is to give me a ring and I her one in token of our union, as confirmed on Monday' 煤老板還在2月21日里的日記里對她們未來的幸福生活充滿希望 2月27日兩個人終于交換了戒指 As they travelled together towards a call at the Norcliffes' estate, the pact was quietly made.

【這里截圖的時候不小心看到SJ指甲還挺長的】 盡管還要再等一個月兩個人才會在Goodramgate教堂領圣餐 但是交換戒指已經讓煤老板have complete confidence in their bond 之前性生活的時候煤老板是不肯裸露自己的 因為覺得沒有commitment 交換戒指的當晚she allowed herself to be 'near' to Ann

No drawers on last night. First time and first attempt to get really near her. Did not succeed very well but she seemed tolerable satisfied.(27th February 1834)

【這里有書和日記的小伙伴我有一點疑問 書里說2月27日交換了戒指 然后that day 她完全地對Miss Walker毫無保留 但是日記27日寫的是no drawers on last night? 所以其實應該是26日？】 Miss Walker雖說同意搬去Shibden 但是還不想公開與Anne的伴侶關系 remained reticent about going public with her decision to live as Anne's companion. 感覺挺像已經出柜的另一半希望你跟家人出柜吧...Anne對未來同居生活的美好憧憬有一部分是因為家人都很支持她啊 書里著重提了一下妹妹Marian對她跟Miss Walker的結合非常高興

Both my father and Marian seem pleased about Miss W. Said I thought I should be happier with her than I should now be with Mrs Lawton, to which Marian seemed to agree without the least surprise (7th March)

四天后 煤老板也幫了Marian一把 幫她給她的求愛者寫了一封拒信 1834年3月30日上午10:35 Anne Lister和Ann Walker一起邁入教堂領了圣餐 To Anne Lister, their commitment had been solemnised. They had been joined together in the eyes of God. 1834年9月 Miss Walker正式搬進了Shiben. Lister家族自然是非常歡迎 但是Walker的親戚們倒沒那么熱情 他們解釋是煤老板唯利是圖 強勢地拐走了他們的親戚 拋棄了Ann在Cliff Hill年邁的姑媽 Making their feelings clear over the coming years 他們經常不請自來去Shibden找Miss Walker 還拒絕認可煤老板或跟她握手 雖說兩人的關系并沒有改善Ann的焦慮癥 兩個人還經常在錢上有分歧 Anne Lister had found the domestic security she had craved all her life 1835年2月10日 兩個人的一周年紀念日【神一般的紀念日日期 難道不是應該挑換戒指或者領圣餐那天嗎？？？？好吧不過也有道理】

1836年老爹Jeremy跟姑姑Anne在幾個月里相繼去世 同一年Marian離開了Shibden搬去了Market Weighton Mariana最終接受了Anne和Ann在一起生活的事實 1836年11月 M來Shibden呆了一周 氣氛竟然非常友好 ‘M really likes Ann — and the liking is mutual’ (7th November 1836) 其實偶爾M有試著去撩煤老板 但是煤老板拒絕了一切親密的行為 1840年9月在俄羅斯旅行途中Anne因發燒最終去世 Miss Walker花了6個月的時間把煤老板的遺體帶回Shibden 【雖說早已經知道這個 但是自己敲了一遍感覺還是非常心酸 Ann真的太慘了】 Ann Walker之后依舊住在Shibden 但是因為Anne的去世她精神狀況開始惡化 幾年后她去了約克的一家精神病院呆了一段時間后 最終搬回了Cliff Hill一直到她1854年去世 【感謝Sally感謝劇組感謝兩大電視臺感謝大家的捧場】 【挖煤的事情后面書里就沒有提】 【我終于理清了時間線 因為拍的時候是夏秋至初冬 根本就沒有體現冬天的痕跡哇】 【完】
